二月份是全年最短的月份,而今年的二月共有28天, 12天放假了,餘下16天,再減去星期六日,事實上上課天只有12天,與放假天一樣。但這個2019年2月,對老師而言,相信是十分特別和深刻的,因為大家都戰戰兢兢為校外評核作好準備,正所謂:「存最好的希望,作最壞的準備。」 | |||||
February is the shortest month in the calendar. There are 28 days only this year. 12 days are holidays, leaving just 16 days. After deducting Saturdays and Sundays, there are only 12 days of school, which is the as the holidays. However, February, 2019 has been very special and cherished by all the teachers in LTY, as we all prepared face the External School Review, which has been conducted by the officers from Education Bureau (EDB). ‘Hope for the best and prepare for the worst’ was the proverb that guided all of us.

2月12日(星期二)為教師專業發展日,希望藉此提升教師對教育發展新趨勢的觸覺。今次發展日所請的主講嘉賓是受某位學生的啟發的,他使我靈機一動,便主動邀請他。每天小息,學生都很喜歡到校長室與我談天說地。某天,有一位高年級的學生與我談到他昔日在某學校上學的情況,分享老師如何與他相處。他說那裏有一位老師十分兇惡,罵人是不留情面的,但他心裏明白這位老師是愛錫學生的。一問之下,原來那位「兇惡」的老師,是我昔日在教育學院的同學—柴主任。當時我們經常討論功課上的問題,亦會互相分享不同事件上的見解,大家也成為了好朋友。畢業後,大家忙着自己的工作,見面的機會就越來越少,甚至失去聯絡,但這不代表我們的友情就如此丟淡了。當副校長聯絡柴主任,確定了分享時段及主題後,我這位好朋友竟然立即主動致電學校與我相認。在教師專業發展日當天,我們終於再相聚了。柴主任用了風趣幽默的方法娓娓道來與學生相處之道,無論成功或失敗的例子,也與我們分享。老師一時被逗得笑逐顏開,一時沉默思考,這個講座令老師的專業增長了不少,在問卷數據上反映老師們十分喜歡這次分享,希望日後再有機會在教育上的不同範疇互相交流。 | |||||
On 12th February, 2019, it was the Teacher Professional Development Day. It enhanced the awareness of New Education Trend. I was reminded about by a student. At recess, lots of students love coming to my Principal Room to play and talk to me. One day, a student from a higher form came and talked to me about his past. He used to study in a school but there was a teacher who was so strict and he scolded students fiercely. He was the discipline master at that school. Indeed, he was kind-hearted and loved students but he was so serious when the students made mistakes or were impolite to others. Unpredictably, this serious teacher was my classmate when we studied in Education College. He was my best friend as we spent a lot of time to do discussion about our studying or other issues in different aspects. After graduation, we were both busy with our careers and we reduced our meetings and even time to talk to each other. Finally, we lost contact. It did not mean we are not friends anymore. After the invitation for this seminar, he called me initially and we talked as before. On that day, we finally met. Mr. Chai showed his sense of humour and made lots of hilarious jokes to share about how to get on well with students with Special Educational Need (SEN). He shared all successes and failures with us. He sometimes made the teachers laugh happily but he also allowed time for teachers to stop for introspection. This seminar helped teachers learn more on how to deal with the SEN students with different perspectives. According to the results from the questionnaire, it reflected that all the teachers loved this seminar and they learned a lot. I hope we can have other opportunities to learn and share with each other in different domains in Education.

2月22日(星期五)是世界龍岡己亥年春節團拜,由我們的辦學團體舉辦。除了主席、校監、校董及其他嘉賓外,還有世界龍岡學校劉皇發中學、世界龍岡學校黃耀南小學、世界龍岡學校朱瑞蘭(中英文)幼稚園及我們的老師一起參與,大家濟濟一堂,場面十分熱鬧。儀式過後,中學部派出醒獅隊表演,令氣氛十分高漲。最後由各校老師表演,高唱不同的賀年歌曲,令氣氛更上一層樓。當然,不能少的就是由主席、世長及校董派發利是的環節,各人流露喜悅之情,希望大家接過這份祝福,能在這年一切安好、順利。 | |||||
It was the Lunar New Year reunion gathering of Lung Kong World Federation School Limited on 22nd February, 2019. Besides the supervisor and IMC managers, there was the chairman, Mr. Cheung, and other guests. Lau Wong Fat Secondary School, Wong Yiu Nam Primary School, Chu Sui Lan Anglo-Chinese Kindergarten and our school, Lau Tak Yung Memorial Primary School joined this event and it was bustling with so many teachers. After the ceremony, the Lion Dance was performed by the students from the secondary school, which really created the festive atmosphere. Then teachers from different schools sang Lunar New Year songs to greet all of us. Of course, giving out the red packets from the chairman, directors and managers is a must. Everyone showed their happiness to receive the blessing and will have a stable and smooth Year of Pig.

二月中旬,教育局教育質素保證視學組的校外評核正式開始,這幾天安排了觀課、會議、面談等活動,從不同的持份者獲得資訊,包括老師、家長、學生、校董會成員等,這樣就與醫生的工作一樣,診症一下,對症下藥,經過這次校外評核後,我們更能夠了解學校的亮點或可發展的地方。老師們如學生般戰戰兢兢被外評人員觀課或面談,在此衷心多謝老師們的辛勞。我們會為着學生的學習為大前提,繼續努力。數位老師因身體抱恙,不能回校工作。衷心祝福他們身體健康、早日康復。 | |||||
In the mid-February, Quality Assurance Department from EDB started their supervision at our school. During those days, lesson observations, meetings and interviews were conducted with different kinds of stakeholders such as teachers, parents, students and IMC managers. All the officers from this department act like doctors to diagnose the outstanding areas or the areas we need to develop. All the teachers were very serious about facing this assessment. I really want to take this chance to show my gratitude to all the teachers in LTY. Let us fight for the future of the school with the students’ benefit as the first priority. There are some teachers who are on sick leave. I hope they get well soon. | |||||
